A sparkle on the landscape

The weather was glorious, there was hardly even a breeze - absolutely perfect for greenhouse building. Armed with spanner, gloves and a long-suffering best friend, construction began at 8.30 am sharp on Saturday morning.

It took us a little while to get our heads around the pieces and how they slotted together but once that was done we were off. Here are the two sides,

and the back and front.

We had the frame finished just after lunch on Saturday and then began glazing. Don't let anyone tell you that glazing the roof of a greenhouse is easy! It's fiddly, difficult and time consuming. Once that's done however everything else just slots into place and can be done in no time at all.

The glazing was finished by 11.00 am on Sunday and by 2.00 pm the gravel floor was down and the door was on.

And here's the finished article...

Now isn't that a pretty sight!
